To bowl or not to bowl

Due to the absence of proper ID I was left with very few options as to what to do on a Saturday night. Some very nice friends of mine decided to spring for me to go bowling with them. We had a few drinks at my place and picked up some Mc Dinner before heading to the Universal City “"City Walk." The idea was we could walk around for a bit and maybe see a movie and then go to the bowling alley at Jillian's. That was the idea.

After an hour and a half reminder of just how much Hollywood doesn't care to make a decent movie, we decided to just head over to the bowling alley. For those of you who don't live in Los Angeles “"City Walk" is a family oriented tourist trap filled with tons of little shops and restaurants. It's also a nice three block long entry way to Universal Studios, so there is little wonder why there are tons of kids everywhere. This being the case I was very surprised when we went to the bowling alley and were asked for our ID's.

That's right. A shitty bowling alley across the walk way from the ball toss and the Pez store (Yes it's a store that only sells Pez merchandise) is only allowing people 21 and older. To make matters worse the twenty year old, “"I moved to L.A. to be an actor but instead I work at a bowling alley because I suck" doorman gets his jollies off of giving me a hard time.

Now let me make this clear. The friends I am with (with ID's) range in age from 24 to 28. I'm 24 years old and I'll be 25 next month. Looking at me it would be very hard to imagine someone even thinking I could be under twenty-one. I said I was fine with not drinking but no dice. I ended up spending the night watching Caddy Shack and playing Tetris while my friends went to the three of clubs.
