Kevin and Bean follow up interview
I just got off the phone with Kevin and Bean after doing a follow up interview.
I was a bit nervous and a joke I made on the air was quickly misinterpreted as an actual viewpoint and things turned ugly quick.
I made a joke about how if what was really important to women was someone's intellect and humor I wouldn't have had a need to start the site in the first place. This was quickly interpreted as me hating women or having a lower opinion of them and I quickly found myself on the defensive for the rest of the interview.
For the record here's my viewpoint:
For both men and women the first thing you notice about a person is appearance. If someone is a fat slob with no visible redeeming qualities no man or woman will be attracted at all at first. I may have an amazing sense of humor and personality, but if you don't give me a chance to talk to you I'm just another unattractive guy hitting on you. My point is men and women need a reason to go that next step.
If men and women immediately saw each other’s personalities I wouldn't receive hundreds of emails from unattractive guys telling me how they all end up in the "friend zone." It's practically a clichÈ in every society.
Everyone reading this knows and has known an unattractive guy who would do anything for a girl who thinks he's the greatest guy in the world and that's why they're friends. Do you think he wants to be friends? He waits on the sidelines willing to give his life for her while she keeps going after guys who don't call her and cheat on her.
If he looked like a walking gap ad he'd be the man of her dreams. Point is looks matter to both men and women when making a first impression. Sometimes a guy can get over a hurdle like that, if given the chance. If my site does nothing more than make one woman think about giving some guy like me somewhere a chance, it's worth it.
